GBGC Newsletter – March / April 2017

Greens Beach Golf Club March / April 2017 Newsletter   Message from the President: What a month this has been for various reasons. Some highlights include: Boags Contract has been signed and we have negotiated a favourable deal. The completion of the second and final stage of our beer supply system is very close with required materials being sourced next week. Commencement of drainage works and course paths will go a long way to ensure a more pleasant stroll around the course this winter. A big welcome to Kellie Harris behind the bar. Kellie has many years of experience in the industry and I hope you all make yourselves known and welcome.   Not so good highlights coming up: Some prices for certain goods will see a slight increase in the coming weeks. With the terrible start to this year because of weather and some below average trading months the committee feel that some of these items need to increase.  Some have not seen an increase in at least 5 years; where else would you get that?  They will not be major and I hope you all will understand this need, after all we are running a business with ALL profits going back to Club’s running expenses and improvements for all members.  Murray Lehner, President.   Latest Development News: Briefly, the latest plan under consideration is that ECO Golf would develop and operate an 18 hole links course which would include the building of their own clubhouse and associated accommodation facilities for visiting players.  As opposed to some previous proposals there will be substantially fewer blocks available for sale...
